HAPSS CONSORTIUM

The HAPSS project, led by Conscious Aerospace, brings together a powerful collaboration of over 10 Dutch companies and institutions, each contributing unique competitive technologies, capabilities, and expertise. This collective strength is driving the development of the first fully certified hydrogen-powered solution for large regional turboprop aircraft (CS25). What began as an ambitious vision in 2019 has grown into a transformative force, uniting Dutch innovation to set new standards in sustainable aviation. Together, we are not only pioneering the future of flight but also ensuring that the Netherlands leads the world in hydrogen-powered aircraft technology.

  • HAPSS is proud to have Conscious Aerospace as the project lead and coordinator, responsible for managing all work packages. As a Tier 1 systems integrator focused exclusively on aerospace, Conscious Aerospace is at the forefront of advancing zero-emission aviation. Their work in hydrogen fuel cell-electric powertrains is tailored specifically for aviation, but the innovative solutions they are developing have the potential for future application in other industries.

In this project, Conscious Aerospace leads the effort to retrofit operational large regional turboprop aircraft with hydrogen-based powertrains. This provides airlines with a sustainable, efficient solution to extend the lifespan of their aircraft while significantly reducing emissions.

By collaborating with at least 10 Dutch companies and institutions, Conscious Aerospace is ensuring that HAPSS delivers the first fully certified hydrogen-powered solution for regional turboprop aircraft. Their leadership is pivotal in positioning the aviation industry for a greener future, with a vision that could eventually extend beyond aerospace.

  • Unified International, the parent company of Conscious Aerospace, plays a pivotal role in the success of the HAPSS project. Unified International initiated and executed the initial feasibility study, laying the foundation for the project’s ambitious goals.
